What is a Status Conference?
A status conference is a pre-trial meeting where unrepresented parties inform the court of how the case is proceeding. A status conference also provides self-represented parties with an opportunity to meet with a staff attorney from the Family Law Facilitator’s Office to discuss the status of their case and receive necessary assistance. The court will also inquire into what discovery has been exchanged between the parties, possibility of any settlement negotiations, and other matters that are relevant toward moving the case forward to trial.
